From Zero to more than zero ;)

We are family (partners+brother) trying to start up a GameDev company some day. This was our first experience with designing and building a game from scratch to finish (as a prototype). Below you will find an image log of our experience. What a great time we had.

Things (maybe obvious ones) we had challenges with and fixed and learned from:
  • Brainstorming and getting to 'the' idea we all love
  • Finding the right objects and properties in Unity
  • Sticking with a class diagram
  • Staying true to the Game Design Document (which mostly worked out actually)
  • Next time taking even more time designing + making diagrams
  • Making artwork

Also got an emergency call to bring my son to the hospital, which was pretty intense. But we talked a lot about that and finally did get the game to work as well, but that set life's priorities straight again. The gamejam did not matter at all at that point. Luckily my son's all good now and doesn't remember a thing (good in this case ;).

We're definitly looking forward for a next Game Jam!

Let's start off with our mascott:

Keeping the gamedoc close (digitally as well):

Hype when bugs were fixed or features were added ;)

And now: all done!
